KARACHI: Heat waves are likely to continue across the metropolis in the next two days with a maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius, the Met Office said on Thursday.

It said that the level of humidity in the air is expected to drop to 65 percent with a warm and partly cloudy weather to prevail in Karachi on Friday and Saturday (April 20 and April 21). Temperature and warm weather simmered Karachi with 35.5 degrees Celsius.

In other parts of Sindh, weather remained extremely hot as Shaheed Benazirabad sizzled with temperature ranged up to 44 degrees Celsius, Mithi, Sakrand 42, each, Chhor 41.3 and Padidan 41, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas 40.5, each, Sukkur, Rohri, and Dadu 40, each, Larkana 39.5, Moen-Jo-Daro 39, Badin 38.5 and Jacobabad 37.5 on Thursday.

Scattered rain-thundershower with gusty winds is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Lahore, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar and Kohat Divisions), FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. An isolated hailstorm and gusty winds are also likely to hit Hazara, Peshawar and Rawalpindi Divisions, besides Islamabad, Kashmir and its adjoining areas on Friday.

In Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, Malamjabba received a maximum rainfall of 37 mm, Risalpur 24, Peshawar (City 15, A/P 10), Kalam, Saidu Sharif 12, Dir, Kakul, Pattan 09, Balakot 07, Parachinar 06, Kohat, Lower Dir 04, Chitral, Chirat 02, Punjab: Kamra 11, Murree 07, Rawalpindi (Shamsabad 08, Chakala 01), Islamabad (Z.P. 05, Bokra 02, Saidpur 01), Kashmir: Rawalakot 20, Muzaffarabad 12, Garidupatta 04, Balochistan: Quetta (S.M 17, PBO 10), Ziarat 02, Kalat, Panjgur 01, GB: Astore 08, Bagrote 04, Gilgit 02.
