KARACHI: The Met Office on Thursday forecast a very hot weather for south Punjab and Sindh in the next 24 hours, saying that isolated falls are likely in upcountry.

It said that an isolated wind-thunderstorm-rain is expected in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, D I Khan, Kalat, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Multan and Bahawalpur Divisions, besides Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir at evening-night hours. Hot and dry weather is expected elsewhere.

Maximum temperature was recorded in Jaccobabad, Shaheed Benazirabad and Bahawalnagar as 45 degrees Celsius, D. G. Khan, Okara, Dadu, Sakrand, Mohenjo-Daro, Khanpur, Sibbi, Chhor, Sukkur and Padidan 44, each. Lasbella received 25mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours. “A shallow westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country,” the Met said.
