ISLAMABAD: The federal capital witnessed an increase in incidents of kidnapping during the last week as over 14 cases of abduction were reported to various police stations of the city.

According to data gathered by Business Recorder here on Saturday, different police stations of the city registered over 14 cases of kidnapping, six cases of theft and five cases of carjacking during the last week.

The most ‘favourite’ areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Khanna, Ramna, Karachi Company and Aabpara police stations.

During the aforementioned period, Ramna police station registered three cases of kidnapping. One Ghulam Abbas filed a complaint with Ramna police station that unknown people had kidnapped his nephew.

In another incident, one citizen Hassan Raza informed Ramna police station that unidentified persons had kidnapped his brother. A citizen namely Muhammad Ifran filed a complaint with Ramna police station that his servant Muhammad Kamran had kidnapped his son Abdullah.

During the aforementioned period, two cases of kidnapping and one of auto theft were reported to Khanna police station. One Tariq Mehmood filed a complaint with Khanna police station that accused Javed along with Bushra Bibi had kidnapped his daughter.

In another incident, one person namely Javed Masih filed a complaint with Khanna police station that unknown people had kidnapped his daughter. The auto thieves stole a bike bearing registration number AUL-038 valuing Rs 95,000 from the limits of Khanna police station.

Karachi Company police station registered two cases of robbery and one case of motor vehicle theft during the aforementioned period.

In another incident, one Ijaz Ahmed filed a complaint with Karachi Company police station that unknown robbers stole gold ornaments and Rs 700,000 cash from his house. The carjackers stole a bike bearing registration number AEN-237 of a citizen namely Adnan Hanif valuing Rs 30,000.

During the period under review, Aabpara police station registered two cases of kidnapping and one case of robbery. One Tamoor Baig filed a complaint with Aabpara police station that his maid had stolen cash and gold ornaments valuing Rs 500,000 from his house.

In another incident, a citizen Muhammad Rafi filed a complaint with Aabpara police station that accused Tasawar Hussain had allegedly kidnapped his sister.
