ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved appointment and transfer of ambassadors in various world capitals including in London and Beijing.

Sources told Business Recorder that Special Secretary at Ministry of Foreign Affairs Moazzam Ahmad Khan who was recently promoted to grade 22, has now been appointed as Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom while Moinul Haq as Pakistan’s Ambassador to China.

They said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the summary, under which Aftab Khokhar has been appointed Pakistan’s ambassador in Vienna. Aftab Khokhar is currently serving as Additional Secretary, America at the Foreign Office.

Mansoor Khan, currently posted in Vienna, has been appointed Pakistan’s new Ambassador to Afghanistan, while Dr Zahoor Ahmed, Additional Secretary Asia, has been appointed Ambassador to Sweden.

Moinul Haq, currently posted as Pakistan’s Ambassador in Franc, has been appointed as Pakistan’s Ambassador to China.

Shozaib Abbas has been appointed as Pakistan Ambassador to Ethiopia and Sajid Bilal as Ambassador to Egypt. Bilal is currently Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iraq.

Bilal Hai has been appointed Ambassador to Azerbaijan and Murad Ashraf Janjua has been appointed Ambassador to New Zealand.

Janjua is currently serving as Chief of Protocol and Hai has served as DG Americas at the Foreign Office.
