KARACHI: The acting vice-chancellor of the Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) of Tandojam, Dr Zahheruddin Mirani has said that it was his top priority to promote research-based academic activities at the Sindh Agriculture University of Tandojam and at its constitutional colleges.

He expressed these views while talking to teachers and officers of the Khairpur College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (KCAET) at KCAET College on Monday.

VC of SAU visited Khairpur College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology and held a meeting with teachers and its academic staff.

He visited various labourites and faculties of KCAET College and lauded the efforts of KCAET principal for holding classes on a regular basis and ensuring the punctuality of students and teachers at the college.

He emphasised upon teachers that they should focus more on imparting research-oriented education to students at college to cope with various challenges being faced by farmers in our country.

He said that an educated farmer can cope better with contemporary challenges being faced by the farming community due to the impacts of sudden climatic changes taking place in Sindh province.

Later he planted a sapling at KCAET College and monitor ongoing development work there.

The principal of the KCAET College, Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Kerio, Dr Ali Raza Shah coordinator of the KCAET College, academics staff members and Project director, Riaz Soomro were also presents on the occasion.—PR
