IT Park Kazan, ITU Punjab sign MoU
LAHORE: The Republic of Tatarstanís State Autonomous Institution IT-Park, Kazan, a technology park that supports innovative companies at the early stage of development and provides opportunities for the creation and development of numerous IT companies in the Russian Federation, Pakistanís Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB)ís Center for Entrepreneurship Plan X and Information Technology University (ITU) signed a Memorandum of Understand (MOU) here Saturday to explore the possibility of the joint start-ups, exchange program of start-ups and mentors and innovations development process in Russian Federation and Pakistan.
This Memorandum reflects the mutual consent of both parties to promote and encourage the development of technologies, as well as bilateral trade and investment relations.
On this occasion President Republic of Tatarstan H.E Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Minister of ICT of Tatarstan, Azat Mubarakshin, CEO of IT Park, Kazan, Anton Grachev, members of visiting delegation and the Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and founding Vice Chancellor of ITU Dr. Umar Saif were also present.
According to the spokesperson of the PITB the MoU primarily covers the areas of cooperation in Information sharing and technology collaboration through technology transfer, investment, bilateral contacts and partnership development between start-ups and IT companies of both sides, encouragement of innovative industries of economy in both countries through joint ventures or technology cooperation or training and infrastructure support of the innovative enterprises at early stages of development.
Other areas which cover under the MoU are joint development of educational and acceleration programs through incubator and accelerator partnerships between both entities, student exchange partnership between ITU Kazan and ITU Punjab Pakistan, support in the exploration and implementation of Kazanís e-education system for emulation in Pakistan, development and realization of concrete actions and development and implementation of specific events.
Anton Grahev Director IT Park, Kazan and Hafsa Shorish Director PlanX signed the MoU on behalf of the respective entities. This Memorandum of Understanding is subject to a periodical evaluation by representatives of both parties annually.
Dr. Umar Saif gave a detailed briefing to the distinguished guest regarding eLearn, eVaccs, Citizen Feedback Monitoring Program and other projects undertaken by PITB and said that under the principles of friendship and cooperation, the IT Park and PlanXwould share the common desire to expand and deepen their friendly ties of economy and technology cooperation.
