RECORDER REPORT

LAHORE: Business community has expressed its full solidarity with and support to the just struggle of the Kashmiri people and suggested to the government to think strategically, not emotionally, on trade issues with India.

BMP chairman Mian Anjum Nisar in a gathering of businessmen said the entire business community was fully supporting the Kashmiris and their cause of independence.

He said the global economy was in recession and bilateral trade was diminishing. However, in Pakistan’s case the scenario was worse as its imports were increasing more than its exports.

He said that Pakistan would extend every kind of support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir at every forum, reiterating that the Kashmiris would continue their struggle until the achievement of the goal of freedom.

Mian Anjum Nisar said plebiscite was the only solution to resolve the dispute of Jammu and Kashmir, adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan had strongly advocated the Kashmir cause at international forums.

Pakistan Industrial and Traders Association Front (PIAF) chairman Mian Nauman Kabir has raised serious concerns over continuing human rights abuses and curfew like atmosphere in the Indian-held Kashmir and urged the United Nations to pay attention to the blatant violation of human rights in IHK, constituting a high-powered human rights committee to visit the valley to see and report the facts.

He said that the international community must hold India accountable for its human rights abuses in the Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
