KARACHI: Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) an apex body of chambers has made all the arrangement to hold its annual election on December 29 for the year 2018.

Voting will take place for the posts of president and senior vice president, 6 vice presidents representing the chamber of commerce and industries from Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Federal Area, chambers of small traders and small industry and women chambers and four Vice Presidents seats of representing the associations of trade and industry.

On each vice president seats of Punjab and Balochistan the election commission received one nomination against each seat which were found in order.

Haji Abdullah a joint candidate of BMP and PBG on Balochistan seat and Arfan Yousaf a candidate of (UBG) on Punjab seat have been declared elected unopposed unofficially.

Voting will started at 9.30 am and remain continue till 6 pm.

The nominees of chambers of commerce and industries including women chambers, chamber for small traders, national level associations, representing industry, trade and services will cast vote in the annual election of the FPCCI.

United Business Group (UBG) and a joint group of Businessmen Panel (BMP) and Pakistan Business Group (PBG) are active in participating in the election.

BMP, PBG and UBG are claiming to be in a comfortable position and are hoping for landslide victory in annual election of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry 2018.

There are five candidates in the run for President seat including Ghazanfar Ali Bilour of UBG, Col (retd) Sadiq Sultan, Haji Ghulam Ali a joint candidate of (BMP& BMP), Haji Nasim Ur Rehman and Fayaz Ali.

There are three candidates contesting election on Senior Vice President seat including Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir (UBG), Mian Nasser Hayat Maggo (BMP) and Arshad Farooq.

On vice president seat of Sindh Province there are three candidates including Shabnam Zafar (UBG), Haji Ghulam Qadir Solangi (BMP) and Jawed Ali Shaikh.

There is one to one contest between Atif Ikram Sheikh (UBG) and Sartaj Ahmed Khan (BMP) on the seat of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa seat of vice president.

Similarly three is one to one contest between Choudhry Javed Iqbal (UBG) and Qaiser Khan (BMP) on the seat of vice president of Federal Area.

Likewise there is one to one contest between Muhammad Shafique Anjum (UBG) and Maqbool Ilahi (BMP) on the seat of vice president of chambers of small traders and small industries.

On women chamber seat of vice president there are three candidates in the run including Syeda Saeeda Bano (UBG). Firdousia Fazal and Nazli Abid Nisar (BMP).

There are eight candidates in the run for four seats of Vice Presidents of Association of Trade and Industry which include Tariq Haleem (UBG), Waheed Ahmed (UBG), Karim Aziz Malik (UBG), Zahid Saeed (UBG), Muhammad Javaid(BMP), Abrar Ahmed (BMP), Muhammad Yahya Polani (BMP)and Syed Mahmood Ghaznavi(BMP).
