LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly on Tuesday passed a resolution for building water reservoirs according to the feasibility reports of Water and Power Development Authority. The House also passed a resolution of giving ownership rights to Kachi Abadis declared by the Lahore Development Authority according to the policy.

The resolutions of public interest were presented by Hina Pervez Butt and Nabila Hakim Ali. The session started 1 hour 10 minutes late under the chair of Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal. The answers relating to the questions of law and parliamentary affairs were given by Parliamentary Secretary Nazar Gondal.

Speaking on a point of order, PTI MPA Mian Aslam Iqbal said recommendations of the report of parliamentary committee which was formed by speaker on leakage of medical college entry test, should be presented in the House. While endorsing the demand of Aslam Iqbal, Qamar-ul-Islam Raja, who is the head of committee, also requested the Speaker that a report should be presented in the House for discussion because it is the question of the future of thousands of students.

Earlier, opposition boycotted the session after opposition leader Mian Mahmood-ur-Rashid was not allowed to present a resolution on recent increase in the petroleum products’ prices. After boycotting the PTI session, MPA Nabeela Kakim Ali pointed the quorum and the speaker adjourned the session for five minutes but the treasury benches failed to fill the quorum. The speaker adjourned the session for Wednesday.
