LAHORE: Governor Punjab Rafique Rajwana administered the oath of office to newly appointed Ombudsman Punjab Najam Saeed in a ceremony at the Governor’s house here on Thursday. Chief Secretary Punjab and high officials attended the ceremony.

Governor Punjab hoped that new Ombudsman would play an effective role in removing grievances of the people.

Najam Saeed is a retired officer of Pakistan Administrative Service who has served on important positions like special secretary finance, secretary Auqaf, Member Board of Revenue, secretary special education during his long service.

Before taking oath of office, Najam Saeed served Chairman LDA Commission. He also served as advisor to Ombudsman and member Punjab Services Tribunal.

Director Ombudsman Office Abid Noor Bhatti told Business Recorder that Najam Saeed had taken over charge of his office and met with senior officers of his office including Secretary Mumtaz Hussainm Zahid, Registrar Farooq Saeed.

He has vowed that he will try his best to fulfil all the requirements of Justice and provide relief to the complainants against mal-administration of the provincial departments.
