FAISALABAD: Sheikh Foundation (SF) has embarked upon an ambitious project to provide 50 constructed houses to the poor and deserving female members free of cost, disclosed SF president Mian Muhammad Adrees.

Addressing the Management Council at 11th Installation Anniversary of the SF on Friday, he told that it has accomplished a laudable agenda to facilitate the deserving members of SF with a focused approach on widows and divorcees since its inception.

“I have been serving this foundation just to win the blessings of Allah Almighty without any monetary and worldly benefit”, he said and told that during last executive meeting, he had committed to provide shelter to the deserving female members.

In this connection Deputy Mayor Faisalabad Municipal Corporation Sheikh Muhammad Yousaf donated land measuring 123 Marlas.

He told that fifty houses each measuring 2.5 Marla would be constructed and allotted through a transparent system to deserving and deprived members. He told that the cost of each house has estimated around Rs 1.6 million and hence, total cost of this project would be 80 Million. He requested the Executive members to participate in this noble cause and send donations direct to him so that work on it could be started immediately. He also mentioned the performance of SF in other fields of social welfare and told that Rs 64 million has been spent on education from January 2008 up to April 2018. He told that 2675 deserving students belonging to 1226 families are availing from this facility.

Regarding the performance of Standing Committee on Health, he said free treatment is being provided to the members of SF at Aziz Fatima and Dar-ul-Sehat Hospitals. He told that a dedicated gynaecologist has also been arranged for the female members at the secretariat of SF.

Mian Muhammad Adrees told that foundation has so far borne marriage expenditures of 792 deserving girls while a program for the marriage of yet another 100 ladies is at the anvil. He told that free loans are also being doled out to the deserving members to start their own businesses.
