KARACHI: Directorate General Customs Valuation (DGCV) has revised the customs values of children garments under sub-section (7) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1969.

According to details, the customs values of children garments, which were earlier determined vide valuation ruling no 1005 in 2017, had to be revised as per law as it was over two years old.

For the purpose, meeting was held with stakeholders to discuss the current international prices of subject items. The meeting was attended by number of stakeholders including representatives from All Pakistan Customs Agents Association & the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry.

The office after taking viewpoints of the stakeholders conducted market inquiries in terms of sub-section (7) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1969 and all gathered information was analyzed and evaluated.

Later, the customs values of children (baby/ baba) garments of low end brands of China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand Malaysia, UAE, Sri Lanka & other origins are determined under sub-section (7) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1969.
