KARACHI: On Monday, PKR exhibited mixed behaviour against USD in interbank and open markets. It went down in interbank market while going up in open market. It maintained this mixed movement against other majors in open market as well.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee lost 10 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over last week’s rates closing at 159.20 and 159.30 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR gained 30 paisas for buying and 40 paisas for selling over last week’s rates closing at 159.30 and 159.70 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR remained unchanged for both buying and selling closing at 186 and 187.50 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR remained unchanged for buying while losing 5 paisas for selling closing at 43 and 43.20 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR gained 5 paisas for buying while remaining unchanged for selling closing at 41.95 and 42.15 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee-greenback parity stayed unchanged amid sluggish trading activity in the local currency market on Monday.

According to the local currency dealers, the greenback did not witness any change in its demand and supply situation throughout the trading session and it firmly closed at its opening trend for buying and selling at Rs 159.30 and Rs 160.50, respectively.

Moreover, the national currency failed to sustain as it declined its worth versus the pound sterling. At the close, the pound’s buying and selling rates rose from the previous closing of Rs 217.50 and Rs 219.20 to Rs 219.20 and Rs 220.80, respectively, they said.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee recovered 70 paisas against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Monday.

The dollar opened at Rs 159.90(buying) and Rs 160(selling) against last rate of Rs 160.60 (buying) and Rs 160.70 (selling).

It closed at Rs 159.90(buying) and Rs 160(selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold remained Rs106,000 (selling) and Rs106.100 (selling).
