WINNIPEG: ICE Canadian canola futures rose on Tuesday, lifted by disappointing crop condition ratings in the United States.

Traders adjusted positions ahead of government planting reports scheduled for Thursday and Friday in Canada and the United States respectively.

“I don’t think I would want to be long any crops heading into these acreage reports,” one trader said.

July canola gained $4.40 at $512.70 per tonne.

Most-active November canola added $4 to $478.10 per tonne. July-November canola spread traded 3,041 times.—Reuters
