PESHAWAR: Prices of daily use commodities in the wake of waving off /abolishing of all taxes on food items and 38 others non-food items observed decreasing in tribal Mohmand Agency on Sunday.

Officials of the Political administration including political Naib Tehsildar Haleemzai Shakeel Barki, political Naib Tehsildar Khwezai Shehrayar Khan, tribal elders and Mohmand Levies conducted a survey in Ghalanai, Atta and Garnai bazaars to check the prices of various food and non-food items after abolition of Cess by the local administration.

According to survey, a visible difference was observed in the first look in the prices of given food items. It was observed the prices of sugar bag per (50Kg) dropped up to 20 rupees in short run, while the prices of ghee(16kg) decreased 10-15 per tin, cement 5 rupees per bag and chukar/Khal 20-30 rupees per bag in various local bazaars of the tribal region.

During the market survey bakery shops, patrol pump, hotels, fruits and vegetables shops in Ghalanai and Atta Bazaars were also visited the local administration on the occasion directed the shopkeepers to install price lists of daily commodities which will be checked in the next inspection.

Moreover, all the petrol pumps in Haleemzai and Khwezai tehsils were urged to provide special relief in the prices of diesel and patrol in the area.
