Shah convenes opposition legislatorsí meeting today
ISLAMABAD: Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah has convened a meeting of all the parliamentarians, both MNAs and senators, of opposition parties on Friday morning at 9:30am in the Parliament House to devise a joint strategy against the government.
The meeting has been convened in the backdrop of the Panama Papers case verdict after which all major opposition parties, including Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), have demanded Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign from his position. In the meeting of the opposition parties, it will be decided as to how the opposition parties should take up the issue in the National Assembly to pressure the government.
The leaders of different opposition parties would give their suggestions in the meeting of the joint opposition and it is likely that a unanimous strategy would be devised in wake of the discussion. The government has already been struggling to keep the house in order as speaker National Assembly has to adjourn the proceedings on Thursday due to lack of quorum.
