LAHORE: The Provincial Development Working Party of the Punjab government approved 17 roads / bridges construction projects costing nearly Rs. 9 billion including construction of bridge over River Indus near Miran in Rahimyar Khan District at the cost of Rs. 2463.218 million.

According to spokesman for P&DD, the approved development schemes included:

1. Widening / Improvement of road from Gujranwala-Hafizabad road Bheri More to Gujranwala Alipur Chattah road via Chandreka & Bheri Shah Rehman km No.0/0 22.56 (length 22.56 km) in District Gujranwala at the cost of Rs. 311.937 million,

2. Feasibility-Master Planning for Establishment of Lahore Knowledge Park at Dera Rakh Chahl, Lahore (PC-II) at the cost of Rs. 56.072 million,

3. Construction of Ring Road D.G. Khan (Remaining Portion) length=5.20 km, D.G. Khan (Revised) at the cost of Rs. 308.881 million,

4. Widening / Improvement of Head Muhammad Wala to Karam Dad Qureshi Kot Addu Layyah Road via M.M. Road along T.P Link Canal length 47.10 km, Muzaffargarh (Revised) at the cost of Rs. 949.820 million,

5. Construction of bridge over River Indus near Miran Pur on linking N-55 at Arbi Tibba with R.Y. Khan (length:4335 Rft), R.Y. Khan at the cost of Rs. 2463.218 million,

6. Construction of Approach Road to Iccha Bangla (length: 23.25 km), R.Y. Khan at the cost of Rs. 1327.785 million,

7. Widening / Improvement of Arifwala-Hota Road, length=20.00 km in District Pakpattan (Revised) at the cost of Rs. 224.826 million,

8. Widening / Improvement of Okanwala Road (57/12-L Pull) to Chowk Muttan Wala via Chak 65/12 L, length=26.10 km, District Sahiwal (Revised) at the cost of Rs. 270.516 million,

9. Widening / Improvement of road from Ilahi Bakhsh Chowk (46/12 L) to 59/12l via Pull 50-More and 56-A/12 L Madhial, length=22.70 km, District Sahiwal (Revised) at the cost of Rs. 209.482 million,

10. Up-Gradation of Un-Manned & Manned Level Crossings in the Interest of Public Safety (Punjab Province) at the cost of Rs. 634.686 million,

11. Widening / Improvement of road from Kahna Katcha road to Halloki Railway Crossing (part a) in District Lahore at the cost of Rs. 143.510 million,

12. Dualization of road Jandiala Sher Khan, Hiran Minaar, Minor Road to Chichoki Mallian via Allama Mashariki Park along Railway Line length 11.15 km, District Sheikhupura at the cost of Rs. 471.540 million,

13. Construction of Dual Carriageway (Widening & Improvement) of road from Kingra to Sialkot length=31.50 km (Stretch from km No. 0.00 to 10.10 length=10.10 km) District Sialkot at the cost of Rs. 296.043 million,

14. Construction of road from Mainwal Ranjha to Saida via Qadirabad length=17.00 kms, District M.B. Din at the cost of Rs. 229.123 million.

15. Construction of road from Kotli Sattian to Dhanda length=15.61 km Tehsil Kotli Sattian District Rawalpindi (Revised) at the cost of Rs. 233.416 million,

16. Widening / Improvement of Chakri Adda Harnianwala via Bilawal Road i/c Bridge over Sill River length=20 km, Rawalpindi (Revised) at the cost of Rs. 562.060 million and

17. Verification of Prioritized / Screened Road with reference to Viability / Necessity under Khadim-e-Punjab Roads Programme (PC-II) at the cost of Rs. 30.800 million.
