Bahria Town distributes allotment documents among flood victims

KOT ADDU: Second phase of handing over of Bahria Town free housing scheme “Welfare Model Village Kot Addu” has completed. In this regard Bahria Town conducted a ceremony for the distribution of the allotment documents to the families on Friday. Major Gen. Muhammad Yaseen (Retd), Executive Director Bahria Town Welfare Projects, was the chief guest on the occasion.

There was a remarkable presence of local stakeholders, members of civil society and media. Also, there were about 200 to 250 guests present at the ceremony. Balloting was conducted in which the successful needy candidates were awarded the allotment letters of their new homes.

It was a complete free of cost project for the flood victims of Kot Addu, donated by Bahria Town.

Families allotted free homes in phase one have already been enjoying modern facilities in the village for over a year now. Each house is constructed with an approximate of Rs 1.5 million, borne entirely by Bahria Town.

In the second phase, 30 houses were distributed through balloting within 103 families. In addition to this under the umbrella of Bahria Town ‘Rozgar Scheme’ 20 sewing machines were distributed free of cost to those women who have successfully completed the sewing course.

At this point, Bahria Town administration informed that in order to create employment for the poor people of this region, apart from the institute for sewing another institute for the football manufacturing will be created in February 2014 for which talks are already initiated with Sialkot administration.

A fully operational 8-bed dispensary, school, community mosque, central park, commercial area, cattle shed, vocational training institute, graveyard and 24/7 security are salient features of this village.

This model village comprises of houses having two bedrooms, kitchen, common area, washroom and boundary wall encompassed compound. For water extraction, there are hand pumps and electric and sewerage connections.

Bahria Town has always been at the forefront when it comes to sharing the grief of fellow Pakistanis struck by calamities through humanitarian services and re-construction.—PR
