ISLAMABAD: The gangs of auto-thieves and robbers ruled the city during the last week by lifting nine vehicles including bikes and looting cash, gold, mobile phones, wristwatches and other valuables from the residents of the heavily guarded federal capital.

In response to the complaints, the police registered cases, but so far not a single bandit involved in these incidents has been arrested. According to details, the worst-hit area during the last week was the limits of Margalla Police station where unknown auto-thieves picked up four vehicles.

Car lifters picked away a car bearing registration number UT-574 belonging to Yousaf Iqbal resident of Sector G-9/1, lifted a motorbike XP-244 of Muhammad Aamir from G-8 Markaz, stolen a Jeep (IDH-2281) owned by the health department and have stolen anther car (RLG-1780) of Rukhsan Sharif from Sector G-9 Markaz.

Kohsar police registered two cases of auto-theft during the last week. Vehicle lifters stole a car (AZT-427) belonging to Faisal Aziz of Sector F-7/3 parked in front of his house and picked another vehicle bearing registration number (JU-197) of Shehzad Faisal from Blue Area

During the same period, two houses were robbed in the limits of Ramna Police Station. Armed burglars broke into a house and made the entire family hostage, depriving it of gold ornaments and US dollars. On the complaint of Muhammad Yaqub the owner of the house located at sector G-10/1, police registered an FIR against the unknown burglars.

In another incident, armed robbers stormed into a house owned by Muhammad Afzal at sector G-10 and looted gold ornaments, cash and other valuables.

Lohi Bheer Police Station registered two cases of robbery during the last week. A gang of unknown robbers entered the house of Faisal Akhatar and escaped with gold ornaments, camera and other valuables. Dr. Muhammad Nawaz of Pakistan Town informed police that unknown robbers have stolen gold ornaments and other valuable from his house. Aabpara police also registered two cases one each of robbery and auto-theft.

Shehzad Town, Sabzi Mandi and Industrial Area police stations registered one case each of car theft. Similarly, Sihala, Bani Gala, Tarnol and Koral police stations registered one case each of robbery last week.
