RECORDER REPORT

LAHORE: Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that the jet bombings can’t help restore peace nor suicide bombings could pave way for the enforcement of the Shariah.

According to the spokesperson of the JI He expressed these views while addressing the Friday congregation at Mansoora mosque.

He also said that the government had avoided talks with the Taliban under US pressure however the religious forces in the country, especially the Deobandi Ulema should step forward, and pave way for dialogue to save the country and also to prevent the emergence of a wrong image of Islam. He said if the religious forces did not rise at this moment, they would be driven to a blind alley and would have no way out.

He said the religious parties had played the key role in framing the 1973 constitution, and it was their duty at this juncture to protect the country and the constitution. A charge sheet has been issued against the religious parties and they would have to answer that, he added.

The JI chief said that the enemy had always used the differences of the Islamic sects and schools of thought as a weapon. The need of the hour was that the Ulema of the Deobandi school of thought sat down with the Shias, the Ahle Hadith, and Ahle Sunnah, to evolve an effective strategy to counter the current campaign against Islam.

He said the propaganda that the Taliban did not accept the country’s constitution was being made at this moment with a motive, and the present rulers were going to fulfil Washington’s old desire for annihilating the North Waziristan. He said, hundreds of people were becoming victim of bombings in Waziristan. He said, the bombings did not hit a target, these also killed innocent people and after Swat and Boner, thousands of people had been forced to shift from Waziristan.

Syed Munawar Hasan said that government was insensible and evasive as it dared not to take the risk of dialogue even if it so desired. Washington would never like its stooges in Islamabad to ignore its dictates. Therefore, it was the duty of the religious forces to go ahead with the talks with the Taliban. He said that since a majority of the Taliban belonged to the Deobandi school of thought, it was for the Deobandi Ulema to take up this responsibility. Till now, the government had failed to prove its sincerity or authority. The war that Islamabad had been terming its war was actually the war to establish the US hegemony and it’s New World Order by force, and Islam and the Muslims were its only targets.

He said that the US had been claiming to pull out of Afghanistan during the year 2014 however its policies belied its claim.
