KARACHI: At least 2 persons, including a PPP worker, were killed in different shooting incidents on Friday in the metropolis.

Mujeeb-ul-Rehman Khan, a worker of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), was gunned down by unknown killers, while going to his showroom near Kati Pahari in the jurisdictions of Peerabad police station.

Police said Mujeeb Khan was shot and killed by 2 unidentified armed motorcyclists when he was about to get off from his vehicle in front of his showroom “Khaiber Motor” located in Pakhtoon Market.

He sustained 3 bullet wounds in different parts of body. The victim succumbed to injuries on way to hospital. Police said it was premature to say anything about the motive behind this incident; however, police would bring the culprits involved in this incident to justice.

He had been associated with the party for the last 20 years and once was a candidate for Provincial Assembly, said a PPP official while talking to Business Recorder. The deceased was laid to rest in Katti Pahari graveyard, he added.

In Another incident a man was killed near Firdous Masjid, Lyari. The identity of deceased could not be ascertained, however, the body was moved to Civil Hospital for medico legal formalities.

Around 10 am, a cracker was hurled at a police mobile of (Headquarter East) in Esa-Nagri near Hassan Square in the jurisdictions of Aziz Bhatti police station, how ever, no causality was reported in this incident. Police said there were four officials present when the incident took place and all were safe

A cracker was reportedly thrown by unknown men at Nagan Chowrangi, near Shadman Town, resultantly a man was injured, who was shifted to near by hospital for medical aid.
