ISLAMABAD: Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) has completed 13 more projects of infrastructure, health and education worth Rs.5.9 billion in AJK Capital Muzaffarabad, Bagh and Rawalakot.

The Project Director ERRA, NESPAK officials and Chinese Construction Company Engineers briefed the high level meeting chaired by Deputy Chairman ERRA Major General Azeem Asif here at ERRA headquarters

In the meeting Project Director Altaf Hussain Tahir, Tayyab Iqbal Resident Engineer NESPAK and Liu Guozhen Project manager Chinese Construction Company were hopeful that rest of 21 development projects in these cities would be completed on fast track basis.

During the meeting ERRA Deputy Chairman appreciated the pace of work and directed the concerned officials to ensure quality work and remove impediments which caused delay in the construction work including land acquisition issues.

Appraising the details the ERRA Project Director Altaf Hussain Tahir said that four projects of greater water supply schemes in Bagh worth Rs.1.49 billion have been completed. He added that with the completion of these mega projects the inhabitant of the Bagh city will have the facility of uninterrupted water supply which will mitigate the water scarcity issue. He told the meeting that two Kotla Nullah water supply scheme also completed and operational in the city and its suburb.

He said that eight infrastructure projects have been completed in the area with total cost of Rs.2.5 billion which will give relief to the resident of the area. Sharing the details he said that in Muzaffarabad Rs.1.23 billion college road has been completed. He added Khurshid National Library after competition with total cost of Rs.96.5 million has been handed over to the city administration. He said that shopping centre, parking area, sathra View Park and zero point to airport road have been competed with total cost of Rs.1.26 billion in Muzaffarabad city.

Giving the details of Bagh city development projects he said that Federal Girl’s Public School building and related services have been built with a cost of Rs.149.19 million. He added that ring road in Bagh city has been completed with total cost of Rs.390.45 million which will ease the traffic load.

Altaf said two bypass roads were completed with total cost of Rs.259 million. In the meeting NESPAK and Chinese company representative also assured to completed rest of work on infrastructure schemes to provide civic amenities in the area well in time.
