ISLAMABAD: International Police Association (Pakistan Chapter) has adopted a resolution demanding special packages for the heirs of policemen who embraced martyrdom in the line of duty for their fellow countrymen.

The resolution was unanimously approved in the meeting of National Executive Committee and National Council for International Police Association (IPA).

Members of National Executive Committee (NEC), including President IPA (Pakistan Chapter) and former IGP Dr Muhammad Shoaib Suddle, fomer DIG and Advisor Ch Tasadduqque Hussian, Additional IG Karachi Sindh Rasool Bux Saand, DIG Elite Punjab Muhammad Tahir Rai, Additional IG Karachi Ghulam Shabbir Shaikh, DIG Training NH&MP Haleena Iqbal, DIG Operations Islamabad Sultan Azam Temuir, SSP NH&MP Ashfaq Ahmed Khan, and SSP Mirvias niaz attended the meeting.

The NEC approved the constitution, which worked to review performances and future plans for better and effective functioning to get the desired objectives. It looked the possibilities to help street children and discuss strategy to curb the issue of children rights violations. The participants of the meeting also discussed various measures to raise awareness about the rights of the street children and agreed to initiate struggle for this purpose.

The participants acknowledged the contribution of SPARC, a local NGO, for providing logistic support and other facilities to a school. They also decided to contact philanthropists to get support for the schools lacking basic facilities.—APP
