KARACHI: The earthquake which hit Awaran in Balochistan in 2013 left thousands of homes devastated. It adversely affected thousands of lives and left countless people homeless. United Bank Limited (UBL), as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Indus Earth Trust (IET) to help build Niabat Village to provide much-needed relief and shelter to the displaced.

The signing ceremony was attended by Ali Hasnain, Group Executive, Retail Bank, UBL, Shahid Khan, CEO, Indus Earth Trust and senior executives from the bank.

“UBL wants to help the people of Balochistan by enabling them to rebuild their homes, which were destroyed in the earthquake, so that they can move on with their lives. This effort will not only provide shelter to the displaced, but will also recruit locals to rebuild homes hence increasing modes of livelihood for the inhabitants of the affected area”, commented Ali Hasnain, GE-Retail Bank, UBL.—PR
