RECORDER REPORT

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has submitted two calling attention notices to the National Assembly Secretariat on the auction for 3G and 4G licences and a new soaring circular debt.

The notices submitted by PPP MNAs Dr Azra Fazal, Imran Zafar Leghari, Shazia Atta Marri, Dr Nafisa shah and Shahida Rehmani on Wednesday state: “We would like to bring the attention of this august house towards the rising menace of circular debt of Rs.286 billion under rule 88 of rules & procedures of national assembly.”

Similarly, the second calling attention notice said, “we would like to draw the attention of Finance Minister towards the lack of interest and dismal response shown by the bidders in the purchase of 3G & 4G technologies. It shows a complete failure of the government to handle the matter in an adequate manner; as a result of this, the government will lose an excellent chance to get maximum monetary benefits from the sale of 3G & 4G licences.”

PPP MNAs Shazia Atta Marri, Makhdoom Syed Mustafa Mehmood, Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani, Abdul Sattar Bachani and Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah submitted notices.
