PESHAWAR: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP), in its meeting held under the chairmanship of KP Additional Chief Secretary Khalid Pervez on Thursday, reviewed 10 development projects in which nine were approved with an estimated cost of Rs 52583.566 million.

The meeting was attended by the Administrative Secretaries and senior staff of Finance, Environment, C&W, LG&RD, Agriculture, Energy and Power, Elementary and Secondary Education and Food and Irrigation departments.

The approved projects are construction of Lawi HPP (69 MW) Chitral (10pc ADP (Local)(Rs 12,235.4m, HDF) (revised) at a cost of Rs 26,660.01 million, construction of Matiltan Gorkin HPP Swat (84MW) (20%pc ADP (Local) and 80pc (Rs 12229m, HDF) at a cost of Rs 22,017.360 million, electrification of 100 villages through solar/alternative energy at a cost of Rs 216.44 million, establishment of 100 Government Primary Schools (Boys and Girls) on need basis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Phase-III) at a cost of Rs 1733.263 million, purchase of land for construction of food grain godown at Abbottabad at a cost of Rs 75 million, DFID assisted bridges of Malakand Division SH, construction of abutments, approaches and launching of steel bridges to be provided by DFID under Flood Damages Restoration Project in District Swat, Chitral, Dir Lower and Upper Dir (Phase–II) at a cost of Rs 960.83 million, Emergency Rural Roads Rehabilitation Project (Jica assisted), construction of roads in district Haripur at a cost of Rs 211.720 million. Rehabilitation and improvement of roads in district Nowshehra (22.16 Kms) at a cost of Rs 600.828 million, pre-feasibility study, feasibility study and detail design of small dams in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Phase-II) at a cost of Rs 108.115 million.
