LAHORE: Punjab Acting Governor Rana Mohammad Iqbal inaugurated Phool Nagar Rescue Station on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Rana Iqbal termed Rescue 1122 as public friendly service. He said that Rescue 1122 emergency services will be provided to all citizens of the country as the government has planned to expand Rescue 1122 all over the country.

He further said that fortunately Rescue 1122 was established first in Punjab, which further provided technical assistance to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir for establishment of Rescue 1122 in their areas.

Rana further said that he was fully aware of the problems of the citizens, especially of Phool Nagar, who had been depriving of the emergency services since long time. He said that people lost their lives during road traffic accidents, but with the establishment of the rescue station at main highways in Phool Nagar shall ensure provision of basic right to timely emergency care to the citizens of Phool Nagar.

Rana Iqbal said that Punjab also extended its cooperation and played the role of big brother in time of need for other provinces. He said the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif expanded this human friendly service from 12 districts of Punjab to all 36 districts of Punjab and also ensured establishment of Rescue 1122 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.

While addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Rescue Station, DG Rescue Punjab, Dr Rizwan Naseer said due to selfless efforts of Rana Iqbal, a rescue station has been established in Phool Nagar for provision of emergency and rescue services.

DCO, DPO and other government functionaries of the district were also present on this occasion, whereas a large number of the citizens thanked Punjab Governor and DG Rescue Punjab for establishing a rescue station.
