Police blamed for tampering medical record of injured

RECORDER REPORT

LAHORE: PML-Q Secretary Information Kamil Ali Agha has alleged the Punjab police tried to tamper the medical record of injured workers of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) during the Model Town incident.

He said the police officers have tried to pressurize the doctors to change reports of those who received bullet injuries during the clash. The police officers were seen in the office of Medical Superintendent of Jinnah hospital; however they left when they saw media men along with PML-Q leadership and covering their presence.

At least eight people including two women were killed during violent clash between the supporters of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri and police on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, while taking notice of the incident of tempering with the medical reports, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif summoned a report from Secretary Health and police authorities. It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab CM on Tuesday night took the notice of Model Town incident and ordered to remove Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Shafiq Gujjar, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Rana Abdul Jabbar and Superintendent of Police Model Town division Tariq Aziz from their posts and made them OSD.
