ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif late night on Friday chaired a high level meeting to take stock of the grave political situation. He was briefed by the negotiating team about its talks with the protesting parties.

The meeting was also given a briefing by the Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on the overall security situation in the federal capital, especially in its Red Zone. The Interior Minister told the meeting that law enforcement personnel were ready to deal with any kind of untoward situation.

The meeting reportedly reiterated that Prime Minister would not resign from his office. The Prime Minister was expected to leave for Raiwind.
