PESHAWAR: The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani in a ceremony held at CPO on Monday awarded Peshawar and Kohat police officers and jawans on outstanding performance against kidnappers, killers and recovery of arms and ammunition.

As per details on the night of August 28, five persons of a family were killed inside their house at village Alizai police station Usterzai Kohat.

This blind murder case was a challenge for the police and a special team was constituted to work out the case. The case was investigated on different angles and due to hectic efforts, professional skill the team succeeded to trace and arrest the real accused Gulfam and Sadiq Ali. Motive behind the occurrence was women folk dispute. Both the accused confessed their crime in the court.

Likewise a constable of Special Force Kohat arrested the killer along with the arms used in the incident. A scuffle between the constable and accused also took place on this occasion; however, the constable over powered the accused.

In another case one Saifur Rahman was kidnapped and the unknown kidnappers demanded huge ransom money. The Kohat police along with the brother of the kidnapped raided the Gundyali area of police station Gumbat.

On this occasion an encounter also took place between the police party and kidnapers in which an ASI Jehad Ali got injuries. The police recovered the abducted safely while the abductors fled to tribal area of Jawaki.

Similarly, a dog handler constable Shabbir Ahmad with the help of Dog Gringo No. 3106 recovered a Kalakov, two pistols along with thousands of rounds. Addressing the ceremony the IGP especially appreciated the professionalism, hectic efforts and bravery of the Kohat police in the above mentioned three cases. The IGP informed that arresting the killer along with the weapon of offence and working out the blind murder case were clear ample of bravery and excellent policing of Kohat police.

The IGP directed the awardees to tighten the noose around the neck of fled away kidnappers and bring them to book at the earliest.

On this occasion the IGP also commended the performance of dog handler constable Shabbir Ahmad for recovering of arms and ammunition on the pointation of sniper dog.
