LAHORE: Constructors Association of Pakistan (CAP) members have elected Engr Arshad Dad as Chairman CAP for the term 2014-2015 at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) recently held in Lahore. Engr Arshad Dad has served CAP previously as Vice-Chairman Islamabad Region.

Haji Zahir Khan, Quetta was elected as Senior Vice-Chairman, Engr M S Asad Mukhtar Lahore as Vice-Chairman Punjab, Jamsheed Akhtar Danish Karachi as Vice-Chairman Sindh, Haji Fazal Kadir Khan Sherani Quetta as Vice-Chairman Balochistan and Abdul Latif as Vice-Chairman Islamabad Region.

Other members of the executive committee of the association are: Engr Shahid Rafiq, Sardar Muhammad Ishaq Khan, Engr. Sikandar Hayat Khattak, Ghulam Habib, Naeemuddin A. Siddiqui, Syed Irshad Ahmad Bukhari, Hamid Naqvi, Chaudhry Muhammad Habib Kanwal, Engr. Muhammad Saeed Shamsi, Muhammad Maqeemuddin, Maqsood Ahmad, Muhammad Ayub Sheikh from corporate class.

While Engr Ahmed Ghazal Usmani, Engr Muhammad Najeeb Haroon, Abdul Hafeez Chaudhry, Sabir Hussain Javid, Muhammad Shafiq, Hammad Islam Chaudhry, Munir Ahmad Abbasi, Malik Muhammad Kaleem Ullah were elected from associate class.

Outgoing Chairman Afzal ur Rahman congratulated Engr Arshad Dad on his election as Chairman CAP. Afzal-ur-Rahman hoped that Engr Arshad Dad would try his best to address the pending issues of contractors.

Engr. Arshad Dad assured the meeting that the association will live up to their expectations and will do all that is required to enhance the prestige of contractors and construction Industry. He listed the pending issues which shall form the agenda for the new Chairman.

Engr. Arshad Dad thanked members and executive committee of CAP for electing him as Chairman CAP. Engr. Arshad Dad stated that he would try his best to fulfill the responsibilities given to him with dedication and honesty. He stated that basic issues are related to PEC License, implementation of PEC Standard Bidding Documents, Non Payment of Contractor’s certified bills and Sales Tax on Construction Services are required to be attended and efforts shall be made to address such core issues.
