Answer is ‘inside the ballot bags’: Imran

RECORDER REPORT

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Monday said that the answer to the questionnaire given to him by the judicial commission is right ‘inside the ballot bags’.

Talking to reporters after appearing before the judicial commission, tasked to investigate the alleged riggings in 2013 general elections – Imran said only sixty ballots bags be opened, and the evidence will start pouring out – whether there were any irregularity in 2013 elections or not.

“Just open sixty [ballot] bags and the pattern for holding the probe will be easy…the answers to the questionnaire which the [judicial] commission has given to us [PTI] is lying inside the ballots bags,” Khan maintained.

Earlier in the day, Imran criticised Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for what he called a ‘mess in PCB or Pakistan Cricket Board. But PTI chairman had to face criticism after calling for an overhaul in the cricket structure in a series of tweets.

At a time when over 45 people have been killed due to heavy rains in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the province where his party rules the roost. Many people took to twitter, pointing out that Imran should be more concerned about the loss of lives and devastation in the KP province rather than worrying about cricket matters.

After a humiliating defeat to Pakistan cricket team in Bangladesh over weekend, Imran, in one of his tweets, said: “Nawaz Sharif appointed a journalist [Najam Sethi] with no cricket credentials.”

Imran agreed that things had ‘hit rock bottom’ in Pakistan cricket, adding, “Since 80s I have been saying Pakistan’s domestic cricket structure is deeply flawed [and] and needs to be overhauled. Pakistan cricket has hit rock bottom. PCB chief [Shehryar Khan] and ex-ICC chief [Ehsan Mani] are also pointing out that domestic structure needs overhauling,” he twitted.
