ISLAMABAD: President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus is arriving on a two-day official visit today (Tuesday). This will be the first ever visit by a Belarusian President to Pakistan. The President of Belarus is leading a high powered delegation.

According to Foreign Office spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah, a number of important agreements/MoUs are expected to be signed during his visit to the country. During the course of the state visit, he will have official talks with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who will also host a lunch in honour of the visiting dignitary. President Mamnoon Hussain will also host a banquet in honour of the Belarusian President. “Pakistan and Belarus enjoy cordial relations”, the spokesperson said, adding President Lukashenko’s visit will help in strengthening the exiting ties between the two countries.

Belarus established its resident Mission in Islamabad in November 2014.
