LAHORE: The Punjab Education Foundation (PEC) has issued instructions to private schools partnered under the Education Voucher Scheme (EVS) in the Punjab to provide necessary facilities to their students.

A circular issued on Saturday said the scheme schools were directed to ensure availability of classrooms according to the number of students. “Every class should have a separate room whose total number must not exceed to 35. Separate classroom should be arranged if total number exceeds to 35; while student to teacher ratio should be 1:35.

The partners are required to arrange a clean toilet for every hundred students, clean drinking water as well as furniture for their students and teachers,” the circular said. The circular also said in case of increase in number of students, the second campus should be in 200 meters from the main campus and it should be located in the same union council or the locality for which school was partnered.
