RECORDER REPORT

KARACHI: Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has suspended the operations of Air Indus operations from July 1, 2015 for indefinite period over consistent violations of safety regulations.

Talking to Business Recorder, CAA spokesman Pervaiz George confirmed the action, saying that the unsafe condition and consistent violation of the safety regulations endangering the safety of aircraft and life of passengers forced the CAA to suspend the operations from July 1, 2015.

Moreover, he said that sanction imposed by CAA on Air Indus operations will remain in effect till the airline improves its safety standards to the required level. Despite repetitive warnings and directives by the CAA, Air Indus did not make any improvement and ignored CAA’s safety instructions. Furthermore, he said that CAA had restricted the Air Indus to book seats till June 30, 2015 but the airline had completely overlooked the CAA directives and booked seats for July 1 & 2 that resulted the suspension of its operations from July 1, 2015.
