KARACHI: The Met Office on Monday forecast a hot and humid weather for the country in the next 24 hours.

It, however, said that rain-thundershower was expected at isolated places in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Bahawalpur, Zhob, Malakand and Hazara divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

It warned that the dust-thunderstorm with rain was likely to strike at isolated places in Sukkur, Larkana and Hyderabad divisions.

Besides, light rain/drizzle is expected along coastal parts of Sindh. Hot/very hot and dry weather is likely to prevail elsewhere in the province.

From partly cloudy to complete cloudy and windy weather has been forecast for Karachi in the next 24 hours with chances of light rain/drizzle with maximum temperature ranging between 34 degrees Celsius to 36 degrees Celsius with 65-75 percent humidity.

“Seasonal low lies over southwest Balochistan and its adjoining areas with its trough extending eastwards. Weak monsoon currents are penetrating into northeastern parts of the country,” the office said in its weather report.

Rain-thundershower was reported at scattered places in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Malakand and Hazara divisions and Kashmir, as well as at isolated places in Bahawalpur, Peshawar and Kalat divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan in the last 24 hours.

Malamjabba received maximum 32mm rain in the last 24 hours followed by Khuzdar 12 mm. Nokkundi scorched with highest 45 degrees temperature followed by Dalbandin 44, Sukkur, Sibbi 43 each, Dadu, Larkana, Rohri 42 each, Jacobabad, Moenjodaro, Turbat, Chillas and Rahim Yar Khan 41 each.
