PESHAWAR: The Executive committee of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KPCCI) on Wednesday announced the election schedule for 2015-16 and constituted an election commission for the purpose.

According to the election schedule, the KPCCI executive committee elections would be held on September 19, while balloting for the presidential slot would be held on September 23, 2015.

The KPCCI executive committee, held a meeting in this connection, chaired by the chamber president Faud Ishaq at the Chamber House. Leader of Businessman Forum, Senator Ilyas Ahmad Bilour, Vice presidents, Engr Maqsood Anwar Pervez, Haji Iqbal Khan Afridi, former president Ghazanfar Bilour, Zahidullah Shinwari, Riaz Arsahd, Sharafat Ali Mubarak, executive members of the chamber also attended the meeting.

The executive committee approved the election commission, formed at the meeting, to hold elections for the chamber for 2015-16. The meeting has proposed the names for the members of the election commission, which included Safi Bashir Ahmad Durrani, Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi, and Muhammad Ishaq. The executive committee unanimously endorsed all the proposed members for the election commission.

The meeting stated that the election schedule would be posted on the Chamber’s web page following the approval of executive committee of the chamber, while it would also be displayed on the notice board. It was said the final list of voters will be issued by August 28, 2015.

It revealed that the nomination papers would be submitted by August 01, 2015. Scrutiny of the nomination papers would be carried out by the election commission, which would issue the final list of the candidates on September 14, 2015.

The nominations would be withdrawn till September 07, while the final list of candidates would be issued by September 14, 2015. The elections to women reserved would be held on September 21, 2015, while nomination papers will be submitted on the same day for the presidential slots. Scrutiny of nomination papers for presidential candidates will be carried on same day on September 21, while the polling for presidents’ positions will be conducted on September 23, 2015. The annual general body meeting would be held on September 30, 2015, wherein the newly elected president and vice presidents will take oath of their offices.
