Karachi’s power woes

It was PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari who held the federal government responsible for the power crisis. He had said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had promised to end loadshedding within 6 months but it’s been 2 years since they are in power and the crisis is still there.

No doubt, he made a very important point with regard to fixing responsibility. It is, however, quite interesting to note that the Sindh government has taken a different line with regard to power outages in Karachi. It no longer believes that the ‘devil’ is the federal government as it has shifted its focus to K-electric, threatening it with dire consequences. Little do both federal and provincial government realise that targeting K-Electric alone won’t work; they are required to deliver in this regard without any further loss of time.
