KARACHI: Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) organised a mango show at a local hotel in Islamabad to showcase the variety of Pakistani mangoes to the Islamabad based Diplomatic community.

According to a press release issued by TDAP, the occasion was graced by the Dean of Diplomatic Corps, the Ambassador of Argentina who in his remarks greatly appreciated the varieties on display. The occasion was attended by ambassadors of Japan, South Korea, France, Russia, UAE, US Economic Counselor, Canadian Economic Counselor etc.

Other diplomats who participated in the ‘mango show’ also appreciated the sweetness and taste of Pakistani mangoes. A large number of businessmen including President and senior office-bearers of FPCCI were also attended the event.

Secretary TDAP in her address gave brief overview of activities of TDAP. She also explained the steps taken by TDAP to improve the exports of mango from Pakistan.

Chief Executive in his address emphasised on the need of co-operation between Pakistan and other countries to boost bilateral trade. He also lauded the efforts of Prime Minister and Chief of Army Staff in their efforts to bring peace to Pakistan which is crucial for business activities.

He gave a detailed overview of Pakistan’s mango production, varieties and role of TDAP in promoting export of mangoes. He highlighted that Pakistan successfully exported mango to Europe last year despite strict requirements of the markets in the region. Pakistan has successfully exported mangoes to Japan. The participants appreciated TDAP for holding such informative events about prime fruit of Pakistan.—PR
