ISLAMABAD: Minister of Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal would open an event organised by “Ilm Pakistan” today (Friday) in Higher Education Commission (HEC).

This was stated by Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms (PDRs) Ahsan Iqbal while talking to media on Thursday.

He said that the ministry launched vision 2025 on August 11, 2014 but could not highlight and create awareness due to sit-ins by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) at D Chock of Islamabad. He said that event of “Ilm Pakistan” is part of vision 2025.

The minister said that there is need of awareness about science, technology and innovation. He said that the country needs knowledge which may prove beneficial for economy.

Ahsan said “We have to change ‘ratta system’ in our education and curriculum needs a review and syllabus of education. In European countries there is concept of growing mind while it is opposite in our country”.

The minister said that on Friday (Independence Day) they will announce motive of “Ilm Pakistan”. He said that there is need of survey and research at gross root level i.e at primary and secondary level to find out real problems faced by the students and teachers. Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal said that there is need of promoting and enhancing the role of laboratories and science at primary and secondary schools.
