KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has cancelled inter-city teachers' transfers/postings made during last two months.

These directives he issued in a meeting held here in his office on Monday, said a statement.

Secretary Education Schools Iqbal Hussain Durrani also attended the meeting.

He said that the number of teachers were more in big cities than required and the current scenario needed that more teachers must be assigned in rural areas so that the curriculum activities might go smoothly.

Jam Mehtab said it is a fact that measures, taken by Sindh Education Department, has brought positive results and the cooperation of all stakeholders will bring better results as well.

He also directed not to assign any male headmaster in any girls school. If it was done so then it must be addressed, he added.

Jam Mehtab directed the officers to perform their duties honestly and play their positive and constructive role in providing better education to the children of the province.—APP
