RECORDER REPORT

LAHORE: The central Shoora of the Jmaat-e-Islami, has appealed to the UN and the

world institutions to take notice of India’s increased state terrorism in Held Kashmir since the martyrdom of Burhan Wani and pressurize New Delhi to stop genocide in Kashmir, pull out her troops from there and allow the human rights and relief agencies to the area.

A resolution adopted by the Shoora at its meeting, said that India already had around eight lakh troops in Held Kashmir while two fresh brigades had been called there to crush the liberation struggle. It expressed the apprehension that if effective steps were not adopted at diplomatic and political fronts to counter India’s strategy, the bloodshed and human rights violations there could further increase.

The JI central body was of the view that the Kashmiris profound love for this country enhanced the responsibilities of the Pakistan government and its people and they should try to come up the expectations of their Kashmiri brethren. It assured the Kashmiris of all out support in their mission.

Through another resolution, the Shoora endorsed the demand of the tribal people and all political parties for the merger of tribal areas with KPK before the 2018 elections as this would help grant legal, political, constitutional and basic rights to the tribal people before the next polls. It also demanded a special package for the tribal areas to compensate for the huge losses caused to the area due to lawlessness.

In yet another resolution, the Shoora termed the continuous closure of the Pakistan Steel Mills Karachi as a conspiracy to destroy industrial peace. It demanded that the Steel Mills be saved and salaries of the employees be paid and their terminations be stopped.

The Shoora also expressed deep concern over the government’s failure to initiate proceedings against those responsible for the Karachi Baldia Town factory tragedy in which as many as 259 workers were burst alive.
