LAHORE: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday presented cash award worth one million rupees and a souvenir each to two Wapda security personnel in recognition of their bravery to counter a terrorist attack at the Christian Colony located on the outskirts of Warsak Dam.

The Wapda security personnel who were honoured include Security Sergeant Khaud Ali Khan and Security Guard Najeem Ali Khan. He appreciated the Wapda security personnel for their bravery during the attack. Meanwhile, Wapda Chairman Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain (retd), in a statement, expressed his gratitude to the army chief for honouring the Wapda security personnel.

It is pertinent to mention that the Wapda security personnel, deputed at the Christian Colony, were the first to encounter the terrorists at the colony gate in the wee hours on September 2 attack. They kept the terrorists engaged till the Pakistan Army and other security agencies reached the spot.
