KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly on Friday paid homage to the Pakistani army men who embraced martyrdom due to Indian firing on Line of Control. The provincial legislature also condemned India for its brazen military aggression at the LoC.

The legislators of the province unanimously expressed solidarity with the Pakistan army against the Indian belligerency.

The supported the army saying that entire nation is united and stand by Pakistan army.

The joint resolution that censured India for its violation of the LoC was also adopted unanimously.

Sindh Parliamentary Affairs Minister Nisar Khuhro, MQM and PML-F parliamentary leaders Syed Sardar Ahmed and Nand Kumar tabled the joint resolution. Scores of legislators excoriated India for its fresh aggression at the LoC and warned it of a befitting reply even if she tried stepping inside Pakistan.

Since India’s first Prime Minister Nehru, none of his successors have recognized Pakistan as a country (truly). India occupied Muslim majority areas of Kashmir immediately after independence in 1947. India continues to defy the UN resolutions on occupied Kashmir, the resolution said.

The resolution praised and saluted two Pakistani soldiers Imtiaz Ahmed and Jumma Khan who sacrificed their lives guarding their motherland. It said the Indian’s severe violation of the LoC amounted to an attack on Pakistan’s integrity and sovereignty.

“This house condemns India for its brutal action which Indian army took at the behest of Indian political leadership,” the resolution said, adding that the Indian aggression had been unprovoked and a violation of the international law. It said that the Indian Modi government could not weaken Kashmiris’ courage for self-determination. It added that “the people of Sindh are with Kashmiris in this hour of grief.”

MPAs namely PPP’s Mukesh Kumar Chawla, Dr Mahesh Kumar Melani and Khairunnissa Mughal, MQM’s Rauf Siddiqui and Faisal Sabzwari, PML-F’s Saeed Khan Nizamani and Mehtab Akbar Rashdi, PTI’s Samar Ali Khan and PML-N’s Surath Thebo called Indian premier Narendra Modi a ‘fanatic’ and warned him of a strong reaction if he waged war against Pakistan.
