KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Ahle Sunnat Chief Shah Turab-ul-Haq Qadri passed away after protected illness, here on Thursday. He was 70.

He left behind three daughters and five sons.

He was born in Indian princely state - Hyderabad Deccan in 1946 – a year before partition. His family migrated to Pakistan and settled in Karachi when he was five year old.

Shah Turab-ul-Haq was a former member of the National Assembly and member of moon sighting committee (Royat-e-Hilal Committee). He remained supreme leader of various seminaries in the metropolis as well. He authored various books that include Jamal-e-Mustafa (SW), ‘Khawateen Aur Deeni Masayil’. Shah Turabul Haq spent most of his life in Korangi area.
