RECORDER REPORT

PESHAWAR: A dozen of Temporary Displaced Persons (TDPs) of Koki Khel tribe of Khyber Agency staged a protest demonstration outside Jamrud Press Club on Friday, demanding the authorities to ensure their registration and resumption of ration immediately.

The demonstrators were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans in favour of their demands. The protest was headed by Koki Khel TDPs elders Aqal Shah, Bakhtawar Khan, Haji Asmatullah, Haji Wazir and others.

While speaking on the occasion, the elders said that in 2012 due to militancy, the tribesmen of Koki Khel tribes in Rajgal area of Tirah Valley had fled their native villages and had taken refuge down towns in Jamrud where they had been serving miserable lives. They accused that for the last four months 1800 registered families had been deprived of ration, specialized for TDPs that was step mother behaviour towards them.

The tribal elders added that four years back approximately 18000 TDPs families from Rajgal had left their houses but ironically they had not been registered so far beside concerned authorities were contacted on all available level but all in Vail.

The affected TDPs threatened that if their demands were not address on priority basis they would stage protest in front of governor house and the political agent office in Peshawar.
