ISLAMABAD/TAXILA: The custom officials recovered smuggled items worth five million rupees during separate actions on Monday.

Custom officials said that during search of a passenger bus at Tarnol Interchange near Rawalpindi, they recovered goods smuggled from India including oil, 66 LEDs, hundreds of Chinese locks, 350 bundles of smuggled cloth and 60 kilogram ball bearings.

In yet another action, the custom department during search of vehicles recovered smuggled cloth worth two million loaded in a truck near Taxila.

The recovered smuggled goods were shifted to godowns of the custom department and investigation has been kicked off.—INP
