PESHAWAR: 24th meeting of Departmental Selection Board (DSB) under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani was held at Central Police Office (CPO) Peshawar.

The meeting was attended by Additional IGP HQrts Mian Muhammad Asif, Additional IGP Special Branch Salah-ud-Din Khan, Chief Capital City Police Peshawar Muhammad Tahir Khan, DIG HQrs Muhammad Alam Shinwari, DIG Enquiry and Inspection Syed Fida Hassan Shah, AIG Establishment Najeeb-ur-Rehman Bagvi, Addl: Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs Department Abdul Kamal Khan, Deputy Secretary Estt: Department Maqbool Khan Khattak and Section Officer Finance Department Moazzam Khan.

The board thoroughly reviewed the service record of different eligible officers who have qualified requirements for consideration of promotion to the next rank. 12 officers - Riaz Ahmad, Abdul Hayee, Zulfiqar Ahmad Tanoli, Mian Naseeb Jan, Ihsan Ullah, Qamar Zaman, Bashir Ahmad, Sardar Bahadar, Iftikhar Ali, Muhammad Arif, Pir Shahab Ali Shah and Falak Nawaz were recommended by the board for promotion.

It is worth mentioning that it was fourth (4th) promotion board for DSPs in this year in which by now 45 officers have been promoted to the rank of SPs.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police had initiated a comprehensive programme to groom its officers for senior ranks. In this connection a Junior Command Course has been initiated some time back in National Institute of Management Peshawar as a compulsory requirement for the promotion of officers as SPs.
