KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday disposed of the petition filed for recovery of Mohammad Ali Shaikh, a front man of a famous Dubai-based Sindhi politician, after it was informed that Shaikh has returned home after one and half year.

Shaikh had been missing since 18 June last year as he was allegedly taken into custody when he was trying going to the United States.

The petition, filed by Shaikh’s guard Mohammad Haroon and Mohammad Aslam, stated that Shaikh went missing form Karachi airport and they did not know anything about him. They had pleaded the court to direct relevant authorities to produce Mohammad Ali Shaikh before the court.

The SHC bench was informed by the petitioner’s counsel that Shaikh has returned to home.

On the counsel’s statement the court disposed of the petition as Shaikh is no more missing person.
