KARACHI: ‘Social Expo-2016’, a novel approach in Pakistan’s history, is an exclusive initiative taken by Markaz-e-Umeed that would bring together around 200 NGOs, NPOs and community services rendering organizations from various corners of Pakistan under one roof for showcasing their distinctive efforts for the humanity to enhance quality of life of lesser privileged people of our society.

Markaz-e-Umeed takes the pride to have launched this idea few years back and till date we have successfully convened it twice. The third edition of ‘Social Expo’ will unfold at 10:30 am on Sunday December 18, 2016 at Karachi Expo Center where participating organizations will share a major platform under an inspiring theme Showcasing Social Activism. Sui Southern Gas Company is supporting us in this cause.

Core objective of this one of a kind of expo is to provide a shared platform to non-profit organizations engaged in community services in areas like education, health, human rights, environment, calamities, skill development, poverty alleviation, etc. where they can display their exemplary work, to be noted by a diverse audience for emulation. Simultaneously they would be seeking partnerships with corporate sector for fostering their deeds through philanthropy and Social Responsibility (CSR) programs.

The one of a kind event would be visited by scores of decision makers and general public as for last one month our 5,000 volunteers are ensuring mass participation from multifarious sectors including corporate, government, diplomats, academia, healthcare, media, and others.

Markaz-e-Umeed is not charging any amount from these service oriented non-profit organizations. “We shall be assisting them in all possible ways to help them find corporate that can be their prospective donors”. The event will also feature exclusive awards that would be conferred upon 13 organizations that have excelled in serving the mankind.
